The proposed moratorium bill, Senate Bill 1096 would stunt the growth of charter schools in Connecticut for the next two years, not allowing for any new development in that time frame.

At 10 a.m. in the school's cafeteria on Thursday, March 26, a group of Bridgeport parents, clergy and advocates are expected to gather to protest the proposed stoppage in new development, as more than 3,000 Connecticut children sit one chart school waitlists.

"The Coalition For Every Child will stand with parents and community leaders to fight the passage of the proposed bill and ensure every child has access to public school options the want and need to succeed," the organization said in a press release.
