Each year, the Excellence in Education Awards recognize businesses and community leaders for their commitment and service to education in Stamford. It is an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication of both Stamford’s business community and the devoted individuals who help our students perform better, both in school and beyond into post-secondary education and the working world.

 SPEF presented awards to:

  • SPEF Corporate Award to PwC for its commitment to volunteerism
  • SPEF Educators Award to Mike Meyer, Stamford Public Schools, for his collaborative leadership in the Stamford School district
  • SPEF Leadership Award to Eileen and Fred Springer for their philanthropic support of SPEF and our community

The event also serves to raise much-needed money since SPEF is 100 percent donor funded, with all of its educational resources supplied to Stamford schools at no cost to the district.

Sponsors for the event Bob and Pat Phillips, PwC, RBS, Compass Group, GE Asset Management, Pitney Bowes, Chase Bank, First County Bank, Jennifer and Mark Lapine, and The Berkowitz Law Firm LLC.
