WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Board of Selectmen at its Dec. 7 meeting gave authorization to First Selectman Lynne Vanderslice to sign and execute nine remaining trade contracts on for the Miller-Driscoll School renovation project, according to the Wilton Bulletin .

In all, 22 renovation packages have been approved, the report says.

Under public pressure and members voting in disagreement, the initial 13 contracts got signed after a couple of meetings and one special session, according to the article.

The 13 contracts were regarded as “critical” and recommended unanimously by the Miller-Driscoll Building Committee, according to the Wilton Bulletin.

At the Dec. 7 meeting the Turner Construction project manager explained the scope of work needed, the Wilton Bulletin reported.

These contracts were for mill work, doors, frames and hardware, acoustic ceilings, ceramic tile, vinyl composition tile, carpet and resinous flooring, wood flooring, painting and wall coverings, kitchen equipment, and landscaping.

The project initially was expected to cost $50 million but had a revised estimate of $38 million, the Bulletin reported in November.
