WILTON, Conn. -- Wilton High School's Isabella Palacpac is the winner of the Danbury Symphony Orchestra's Student Concerto Competition, the Danbury Music Centre recently announced.

The 12th annual competition took place Nov. 2 at the Danbury Music Centre. Palacpac, a cellist and junior at Wilton High School, was the first place winner in the final round of the competition, according to a press release.

Palacpac is a student of Minhye Clara Kim and played the first movement of Lalo’s "Cello Concerto in D Minor," and "won the opportunity to perform it with the Danbury Symphony Orchestra" at the Young People's Concert on Jan. 26, according to the release.

The first runner-up was pianist Robert Linden of Newtown, a student of Max Vladimiroff; and the second runner-up was violinist Zoe Lonsinger from Sandy Hook, a student of Joey Corpus, according to the release.
