Area high school students who love history are encouraged to gather at the society’s organizational meeting of the program.

The first meeting is on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Pizza is included. The group will meet monthly.

Led by museum educator Allison Reznik, students will initiate and carry through with original research and hands-on projects.

The Student Historian Program encourages participants to develop projects for class; research and create tours; search for information about historic events and objects; and contribute to the Society’s online and social media accounts.

Student historians also help the Society as volunteers at activities and events such as the American Artisan Show, the Great Trains Exhibit, and Barn Raising Day (a family history day).
