Wilton Schools Get Ready For Students, Set Meet-The-Teacher Days

WILTON, CONN. -- As hard as it is to believe on a sunny summer afternoon in Wilton, school is just around the corner and there is a lot to do before the first bell rings on Monday, Aug. 31.

Here are some dates to scribble on your calendars:

Miller-Driscoll School (pre-K – second-grade)

  • Thursday, Aug. 27: Meet the teachers. Kindergarten: 9 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.; first and second grade: 10 a.m. -10:45 a.m. Meet classmates and visit classrooms.
  • First day of school hours: 9:05 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.
  • The school is at 336 Belden Hill Road.

Cider Mill School (third- to fifth-grades)

  • Monday, Aug. 24: Orientation for new staff members.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 25: First day for staff.
  • Thursday, Aug. 27: Meet the teachers. Nod/Belden Hill: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.; Cannondale/Kent: 12 noon to 1 p.m.
  • First day of school hours: 7:40 a.m. – 2:10 p.m.
  • The school is at 240 School Road.

Middlebrook School (sixth- through eighth-grades):

  • Wednesday, Aug. 19: Student schedules will be available on Parent Portal (Powerschool) starting at noon.
  • Thursday, Aug. 27, 11 a.m. to 12 noon: Walkthrough for sixth- through eighth-graders.
  • Thursday, Aug. 27, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: Walkthrough for sixth graders only.
  • Thursday, Aug. 27, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Coffee hour for parents who are new to the Wilton district.
  • First day of school hours: 8:20 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.
  • The school is at 131 School Road.

Wilton High School (ninth- through 12th-grades)

  • Thursday, Aug. 20: Student schedules will be available on Parent Portal (Powerschool) starting at noon.
  • Monday, Aug. 24: Orientation for new staff members
  • Wednesday, Aug. 26: Professional learning
  • First day of school hours: 8:20 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.
  • The school is at 395 Danbury Road.

Sept 7: All schools closed for Labor Day.
