Wilton Schools officials made the call early Thursday morning to keep schools closed for the rest of the week as the town cleans up the damage created by Hurricane Sandy, which knocked out power to most of Wilton.
A decision on reopening on Monday will be based on the status of recovery efforts over the weekend, school officials said. The district will announce the status of opening on Monday “as soon as we have some assurance that we can transport students safely,” read a message on the district’s website.
Schools in Wilton and the rest of the state have been closed since Monday due to Hurricane Sandy.
