The Board of Education’s Business Operations Committee made the decision while negotiating Smith’s contract during a Nov. 13 meeting, according to the report. The Wilton Bulletin said the incentive-based portion of Smith’s compensation would be influenced by certain aspects of the district’s values and mission statement.

A percentage would be designated to Smith’s performance in meeting each of certain goals, such as student outcome and fiscal responsibility, according to the report. Those percentages would determine Smith’s incentive income.
