Sophomore Tommy Kealy earned a silver medal in the 200 butterfly with a lifetime best time of 1:46.59 ranking him the third fastest all time among Tribe athletes in the event. Junior Sean Higgins also swam a lifetime best, finishing fourth with a time of 1:47.87 ranking him fourth all-time among Tribe athletes in the event.
Both swims were NCAA qualifiers. Kealy also swam the 500 free and finished in fourth place with a time of 4:27.42. He swam another personal best of 48.30 seconds in the 100 fly and was the ninth fastest single race in school history.
Higgins swam the 400 individual medley finishing second with a lifetime best 3:53.89 earning his first all-conference award. His time also qualified Higgins for the NCAA championships.
The Tribe defended its CAA championship, scoring 969.5 points surpassing the conference record set in 1997. Drexel came in second place scoring 572 points.
Kealy competed in a long course time trial following the championship and swam an NCAA provisional qualifier and school record in the 200 meter butterfly in a time of 2:03.22.
