Luchansky Leads Strong Effort by Wahoos

WILTON, Conn. – Wilton Wahoo swimmer Katy Luchansky finished fourth in the 400 free and helped the 200 medley relay team to a fifth place finish in the YMCA Long Course National Championships on Tuesday at Georgia Tech.

The Wahoos are in third place in the meet with 195 points. The women's team is second out of 44 teams, and the men's team is 18th out of 48.

Maddie Smart took sixth in the 400 free, and Caitlin Cole was18th. Stephanie Moriarty, Alyssa Storino and Smart joined Luchansky on the 200 medley relay.

In other races for Wahoo girls, Storino was 18th in the 50 breaststroke; Sharon Ahearn was eighth in the 200 individual medley, and Caroline O'Brien was 31st; Smart took seventh in the 50 free, and Grace Hendee was 29th.

For the Wahoo boys, Matt Moen took 12th in the 400 free. Other highlights included a 25th place finish for Bobby Lesko in the 50 breaststroke; Sam Delise (17th) and Jordan Berger (21st) in the 200 individual medley; and the 200 medley relay, which took 18th with Tommy Kealy, Andrew Higgins, Tim Lattimer and Berger.
