Wilton 5 Black's Line Again Dominates

WILTON, Conn ? Wilton 5 Black was dominant again in its 31-19 win over Fairfield. The win, Wilton Black’s fourth in a row, pushed its record to 6-1.

Much of the credit for the team’s success one again goes to the offensive and defensive lines. They have been dominant on both sides of the ball. On defense, Jake Stein, Aaron Kleeman, Michael DiCostanzo, Daniel Ottavi, and Andrew Segall swarmed to the ball, and Joey Bohacs, Liam Sullivan and Michael Angerame had particularly good games tackling. The offensive line, anchored by Reilly Bingaman, Thomas Sullivan, Dylan Kennedy, Zayvion Eusebe, Tyler Daher and Jack Caty were an impenetrable wall.

Wilton’s offense was electric. On the first play of the game, Wilton scored a touchdown on a 60-yard bomb from Patrick Ciquera to Andrew Calabrese. Later in the first quarter, Wilton got a big run by Connor Drake,  quickly followed by a touchdown run by Drew Herlyn. The extra-point came courtesy of a Ciquera pass to Calabrese. Wilton scored quickly again on a 50-yard dash around the end by Drake.

Later in the first half, after great runs by Zach Pozzi, Travis Longo and Ciquera, Calabrese scored again behind crushing blocks by Angerame and Herlyn. To complete the scoring for Wilton, Drake intercepted the Fairfield quarterback and ran it in for a TD to make the score 31-7, a lead Wilton would not give up.
