The 7th grade team enjoyed its first two victories of the season by defeating New Canaan, 30-26, and Stamford, 38-17. Wilton lost to Westport and to Darien, which won the tournament.

The Wilton warriors’ point guards Zoe Rappaport and Sophie Sudano showed great ball handling and precise passing. The shooting guards, Paula Perez and Nancy Lynch, hit great shots.

Wilton’s power forwards Taylor Lamantia and Brynn Burke showed strength, guarding bigger players close to the basket and getting several steals.

Thee centers, Francesca Goncalves, Ashleigh Coltman and Zara Wiest, made several scores down low, in the paint.

Anna Breen - recovering from an injury - provided great support to the team from the bench. The Wilton team has shown strong character and fiber, making it difficult for opponents to score. They couldn't ask for a better start of the season.
