Wilton Girls Split Final Home Track Meet

The Wilton High girls track team split its final home meet of the season Monday, easily handling St. Joseph's by a 111-33 score, but falling narrowly to Fairfield Warde, 76-69.

The Warriors, led by double wins in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs by Alosha Southern and the 100 and 400 meters by Brynn Parsons, outclassed Warde on the track. But Wilton was outscored in the field events,as only Kafesha Thomas's win in the long jump prevented a total sweep of field victories by Warde. Thomas also won the 200 and 300 meter hurdles to be the Warriors' only triple winner. Wilton concludes the regular season next Monday on the road against Ridgefield and Staples.
