Wilton Running Club Girl Takes 2nd At National Cross Country Race

WILTON, Conn. – Angela Saidman of the Wilton Running Club finished second Saturday in the 11-12 girls age group at the Junior Olympic cross country national championships in San Antonio, Texas.

Saidman ran 10:42.68 for 3,000 meters, and trailed winner Devianna Salcedo by 14 seconds. There were 405 runners in the race.

Saidman, who lives in Bethel, finished third in the regional race last month to qualify for nationals. She finished seventh in the national race last year. She is coached by Mary Zengo at the Wilton Running Club.
