WILTON, Conn. – The sixth-grade Wilton Blue football team defeated Ridgefield in its season-opening game in the Fairfield County Football League, 12-6.
Kyle Philllips returned an interception for Wilton’s first touchdown. He added a 40-yard run for the second touchdown.
Wilton’s defense was tested frequently by Ridgefield, but a unit led by Joey Seaman, Reilly Bingaman, Jake Stein, Thomas Sullivan, Cole Barnes and Max Colburn helped Wilton hold on for victory.
Wilton plays at New Canaan High School Saturday at 10 a.m.
