Wilton got to the finals by blanking Weston 3-0 in a shootout in the semifinals. In the final game, they faced a challenge against Stamford, who had entered the match undefeated.
The U-13 girls played an inspired match. Their attackers were relentless, but they failed to capitalize on their opportunities. The defense put forth a solid effort allowing only sporadic forays into their half of the field.
During the regular season, the attack scored a league high 29 goals while the defense only allowed 11. While their hopes for an undefeated season ended the last day of the regular season, the girls were motivated to make a strong playoff run.
With a strong effort on both sides of the ball, the outcome was a 0-0 tie in the finals, a similar result from an early season meeting. It capped a great season for the team. The girls ended the season with a record of 8-1-2 and league co-champions.
