WILTON, Conn. – Swimmers from the Wilton Wahoos finished second in the boys division and third in girls team scoring at a recent meet in Nassau County in New York. The 13-and-over girls also won a team championship.
The Wahoos sent a large group of swimmers ranging in ages 11 to 16 to swim at the Nassau County Aquatic Center. Wilton’s top 12-and-under swimmers consisted of Nick Killian, Jack Lewis, Ryan Looney, Matthew Martin, Richard Nolan and Sophie Sudano.
The 13-and-over girls team consisted of Savannah Driscoll, Brooke Hendee, Emma Holmquist, Emma Kauffeld, Vedika Karandikar, Megan Lafond, Nora Noel Nolan, Mira Patel, Andrea Prospect, Grace Schaller, Katrina Trentos and Emily Walden. The 13-and-over boys took second, and the team members were Jake Kealy, Robby Giller, Will Suchy and Kyle Wilson.
The 15-and-over over girls were Hannah Armstrong, Lindsay Cooney, Julia Lewis and Madeline Strivastava.
The Wahoos earned enough points in meets in 2012 to earn recognition in the USA Swimming’s Silver Medal Club for the third straight year. The award honors the top 100 swimming programs in the country.
