WILTON, Conn. -- Rolling Hills Country Club in Wilton, the 2011 recipient of the Connecticut State Golf Association’s Distinguished Club Award, has selected Tripp Davis and Associates to prepare a master plan for the course.

"We are honored to be invited by Rolling Hills to work on this original Alfred Tull-designed course,” said Davis. “The course is situated on a former farmland and is routed through corridors of scenic rolling terrain. I was truly excited with my first tour of the Rolling Hills course, which is very beautiful and has the potential to be an even more interesting course to play. The opportunity for strategic design subtleties this land and Tull’s routing provide truly is unique.”

Rolling Hills Country Club is one of only two clubs in Connecticut to have had the prestigious honor of hosting the state’s Amateur Championship, the Open Championship, the Senior Amateur, the Women’s Open and the Palmer Cup.

Tripp Davis and Associates was founded in 1994 and has offices in Norman, Oklahoma, and New York City. TDA practices golf architecture with an unparalleled passion for craftsmanship of unique landscapes and strategic details.

Davis, a decorated amateur golfer, was a member of the 1989 National Championship Golf Team and a NCAA All-American selection while at the University of Oklahoma. Tripp continues to play in several prestigious amateur events each year.

His abilities as a world-class player give him a unique insight into those subtle details in strategy that can make a golf course an interesting challenge for better players, while proving an enjoyable test for the average golfer.

Tripp’s knowledge of the game has also been incorporated into the development of innovative practice facilities that give players the opportunity to practice the right shots in the right way, thus expanding their golfing abilities and their appreciation for the game.

Tripp earned a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oklahoma and is a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects.
