Wilton's Zengo Wins Women's Division At Ridgefield Half Marathon

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield High cross country coach Bryan Kovalsky and Wilton's ageless wonder Mary Zengo won the men's and women's divisions Sunday at the Ridgefield Half Marathon.

Kovalsky, 36, won the race and covered the demanding 13.1 mile course in 1:13:28. He won by 12 seconds over James Osborn, also of Ridgefield. Peter Brady of New Jersey finished third in 1:16:40.

Zengo, 50, established an age group record with a time of 1:24:22. Alyssa Cole finished second in 1:27:43 and Alana Levy of Chappaqua, N.Y. took third in 1:31:49.

There were 331 finishers in the race, which many runners use a late-stage tuneup for the New York City and other fall marathons.
