Once again, the major state road will be closed for work on a bridge just north of the Branchville train station.

The closure is set for 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, until 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, according to the state Department of Transportation.

This is the fifth weekend this summer that Route 7 has been closed for work on the bridge.

Northbound traffic will be detoured to Route 102, Branchville Road, through Ridgefield on Route 35 back up to Route 7 at the intersection of 7 and 35.

Southbound traffic will use the same route — in the opposite direction.

Work will include new concrete approach slabs, paving, installation of a new guide rail, and removal of the temporary barrier curb.
