FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood warning Fairfield County Tuesday.
There could be minor coastal flooding Tuesday evening and overnight into Wednesday, the National Weather Service reported. Strong east to northeast winds, along with a recent full moon, will cause tidal departures of one-and-a-half to two feet above predicted high tides.
The flooding will mostly take place along western Long Island Sound between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. The National Weather Service said there could be minor flooding of the most vulnerable shore roads and adjacent properties due to the height of storm tides or wave splashover. The majority of roads will remain passable, and any impact on property is expected to be minimal and brief.
