Rain To Continue In Wilton This Weekend

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Rain, cool temperatures and a chance of coastal flooding with gusty winds doesn't sound like a great Mother's Day weekend forecast, but that's the outlook for Fairfield County until at least Sunday afternoon, when the sun is expected to peek through in the afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect the below normal temperatures to continue along with rain. Showers should begin to taper off later Friday afternoon and evening, and become spotty on Saturday and early Sunday when another frontal system moves into the area.

Coastal residents should be prepared for a slight chance of coastal flooding from 7 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Saturday. 

  • Friday: Rain and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 53. East wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Friday night: A chance of showers. Patchy fog after 4 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 48. East wind 8 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
  • Saturday: A chance of showers. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. East wind around 6 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
  • Saturday night: A chance of showers, mainly after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
  • Sunday: A chance of showers, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 61. South wind 7 to 13 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
  • Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46.
