WILTON, Conn. — Business is revved up at Wilton Auto & Tire Center, which recently relocated into a renovated building that's 10 times larger than its former location.
The 18,000-square-foot business, which offers auto repairs and maintenance, is now located at 658 Danbury Road. It took over the space formerly occupied by Connecticut Light & Power.
"We still service all makes and models of cars," said owner Mike Lindquist. "But in our new location, we can now accommodate more people. We have eight bays with seven lifts.
"Also, we have two heavy-duty truck lifts to accommodate much larger vehicles. Our door is 12 feet high to get box trucks inside," he said.
"People can also wait for oil changes during the course of the day," he said.
Before moving into its larger space, Wilton Auto & Tire Center was located at the Shell gas station, at 210 Danbury Road, about 4 miles south of its new location.
"I still own that business, said Lindquist, who also owns Cross Auto And Tire Center in Wethersfield.
Lindquist said he plans to turn Shell gas station into a full convenience store.
