A burst pipe at Cactus Rose, a popular Mexican restaurant, on Dec. 16. The burst flooded the restaurant, and forced the restaurant to close at the height of the holiday season. The restaurant will remain closed as workers repair the damage.

The Go Fund Me page, which was created by Karena Piedmont, has raised more than $2,700 to support the restaurant and has established a goal of $5,000. “Sadly this means a heavy financial burden ahead for the owners and that all of their devoted employees will be without work for some time,'' Piedmont wrote on the Go Fund Me page.

A report in the Wilton Bulletin said a sprinkler system burst in the attic of the restaurant due to cold temperatures. Cactus Rose also closed in 2015 due to a pipe burst.

Cactus Rose opened in November of 2011 at 5 River Road. It is owned by Maria Pertesis and her mother, Katerina.
