The events kick off early on Thursday. The first event of the day is the Freedom Run Road Race starting at 8:30 a.m. The fee for residents is $10 for children ages 14 and younger and $20 for those 15 and older. The race, sponsored by the Wilton Parks and Recreation, is held at the Wilton High School track. For more registration information, click here.
At 2:30 p.m., the town hosts the annual match-up as the Republicans take on the Democrats in a softball game.
The game will be followed by a concert, with a variety of bands taking the stage.
The fireworks are scheduled for about 9:30 p.m.
Parking will be available around the Wilton athletic fields for $20 per car for those without a Wilton 4th of July Booster pass.
Booster passes are available for $35 at the Wilton Parks & Recreation Department in the Comstock Center for those who want to support the Independence Day celebration. This will guarantee you a spot in a parking lot adjacent to the fireworks area.
Parking will be available at the High School Athletic Area, Board of Education, Tennis Courts, Cider Mill and Route 7/School Road.
