Ex-Wilton Teacher Caught In Car With Boy In Trumbull Gets Probation

TRUMBULL, Conn. — A former seventh grade teacher in Wilton was granted a special form of probation Thursday after he was found in a car with a 14-year-old boy in a Trumbull movie theater parking lot, according to the Connecticut Post.

Timothy Leonard, 37, said he thought the boy was 18 when he was arrested in February, the Post said.

Despite objections from the prosecutor, Superior Court Judge Earl Richards granted Leonard accelerated rehabilitation on the charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor, the Post said.

If Leonard commits no crimes while on the two years of probation, the charges against him will be dismissed, the Post said.

Leonard was suspended and fired from his teaching job in Wilton. He is also a former adjunct instructor at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.
