New York Man Charged With Felony DUI in Wilton

WILTON, Conn. – Sean Moriarty, 48, of South Salem, N.Y., was charged Friday with felony driving under the influence while on Route 7 in Wilton.

The Wilton Police stopped Moriarty after observing him weaving from lane to lane while traveling north, police said. Once pulled over, police reported he had consumed “intoxicants” before driving and failed to perform a standard field sobriety test.

He was taken to the police department, where he was processed and held on $500 cash bond, police said. He is due in court March 6.

  • A youthful offender was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief and simple trespassing. Police say they found the youth and a juvenile on the Gilbert and Bennett School property Feb. 22. Police say both were intoxicated and were apprehended trying to evade the police. The juvenile was referred to the Youth Division.
  • Alan Kamba, 43, of Bridgeport, was charged with a misdemeanor breach of peace after a witness saw Kamba shove his girlfriend to the ground on Danbury Road by Zion Hill Church on Feb. 21, police said. He was released on a promise to appear and given a next day court date.
  • Robert Johnson, 68, of Danbury, was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence after crashing into a stone wall on Ridgefield Road on Saturday night, police said. Johnson was driving north on Drum Hill Road when, police said, he failed to stop at Ridgefield Road and drove into the stone wall of a private residence. There were no injuries, but police said Johnson was found to be under the influence. He is due in court March 6.
  • Seven 15- and 16-year-old boys were detained at the CVS on Old Ridgefield Road on Feb 21 after the door sensors went off. A packet of condoms was found in one of the youths bags, police said. No charges were filed, and police said it could have been a prank among the boys.
