After four years of investigating, Wilton Police finally made an arrest in connection with the death of Nicholas Parisot. A youth was taken into custody last August at his home in Placentia, Calif., by Wilton officers. The boy, who was not identified because of his age, was charged with second-degree manslaughter. He was extradited to Connecticut in September and his case was being heard in juvenile court.
Parisot, 13, died June 13, 2008, while riding his motorized bike near Hickory Hill and Hillbrook roads. Police said he struck a rope tied to trees across a wooded trail.
Police Chief Michael Lombardo said the boy in custody had been a suspect “since early on in the investigation” and that Parisot’s death was never a “cold case,” even though it took four years to make an arrest. Lombardo and First Selectman Bill Brennan both said an arrest might have been made sooner if not for a lack of cooperation by some people.
