WILTON, Conn. With summer approaching, Wilton is slowing down to deal with the heat. Here are some of the events scheduled for this weekend:
Friday, June 1
Fifth-Graders Invent: 9:05 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cider Mill Elementary School invites parents to the 5th Grade Invention Convention in the main gym. The students in Nod Hill and Belden Hill will show from 9:05 to 10 a.m., and the students in Cannondale and Kent will show at 1:05 to 2 p.m. Cider Mill Elementary School, 240 School Road.
Words Matter Art Show: 6 to 7:30 p.m. The June art exhibition on the walls of the Wilton Library features 15 artists from the Wilson Avenue Loft Artists group, entitled Words Matter. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
Saturday, June 2
Books and Babies: 9:30 to 10 a.m. Bring your baby to this infant friendly program at the Wilton Library. There will be singing, playing and gentle stories geared for babies under 12 months old. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
Under the Stars: 7 to 10 p.m. Woodcock Nature Center is holding a gala called Moonlight and Magnolias. Attendees can participate in a silent auction and celebrate Claire Carlson, a board member of the Green Village Initiative. Woodcock Nature Center, 56 Deer Run Road.
Senior Prom: 7 to 11 p.m. Wilton High School seniors can participate in a very necessary high school experience before graduation. Location undetermined.
Sunday, June 3
Hands-On Digital Photography Class: 1:30 to 3 p.m. Michael Franco will demonstrate how to use enhancing tools such as Brightness and Contrast, Shadows and Highlights, Levels Adjustment, Adjust Hue and Saturation and Unsharp Mask in Photoshop. Registration is suggested. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
