As of 9:10 a.m., more than 5,800 Connecticut Light and Power customers in town are without power, which is 80 percent of the town’s customer base. Several roads remain closed due to downed trees and power lines. Because of the power outages, all Wilton Public Schools remain closed today.
First Selectman Bill Brennan, said the town is still operating under state of emergency conditions. Downed trees and power lines are blocking many roads. Brennan said officials are asking resients to stay home and remain off the roads so utility company workers and public works crews can clear downed lines and blocked roads.
