Wilton Police To Celebrate Life Of Sgt. Tunney

WILTON, Conn. -- A Celebration of Life is planned for Sgt. Thomas "TJ" Tunney, a 31-year veteran of the Wilton Police Department, who recently died from cancer.

After he was diagnosed with cancer, his fellow officers set up a fund to help him with his medical bills and other expenses. A dinner had originally been planned this week to help raise money, and will now be a celebration in his honor by his friends and law enforcement family. All proceeds will benefit the Tunney family in funeral expenses, and any remaining funds will be donated to a charity chosen by the family.

The dinner will be from 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7 at the Ponus Yacht Club in Stamford.

Tickets are $40 per person, which will include a buffet dinner.There will be a cash bar, raffles and an auction.
