Luis Alberto Rodriguez, 29, of 49B Highland Ave., was arrested early Sunday on a drunken driving charge. Police said he became enraged after he was taken to police headquarters and placed in the interview cage.
He kicked and screamed and went to the bathroom despite the lack of a toilet, police said. He was placed in a holding cell and continued his outburst for another 15 minutes, police said.
Rodriguez was arrested after an officer on patrol noticed him driving north in a 2004 Toyota Sienna on Route 7, speeding and crossing into the southbound lane, at about 2:30 a.m.
The officer followed the driver and pulled him over near Old Mill Road. Rodriguez appeared to be intoxicated, could not find his vehicle registration and was taken into custody, police said.
Rodriguez was charged with driving under the influence, speeding, fail to keep right and failure to have registration. He was released later Sunday morning on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on Nov. 21.
