Fairfield police are working with ATFE, state police and the Fairfield Fire Department to determine how much explosive material was kept at the house.

Police and fire arrived on the scene mid-afternoon on Tuesday after a resident called authorities reporting that someone had entered his house.

Over the course of the investigation Tuesday, police determined there was a significant amount of an unknown chemical in the house.

The devices were taken off the scene and detonated by ATFE officials and the state police bomb squad.

The resident of the house was taken to the hospital for observation after officers on scene determined he was "confused."

Police have yet to make an arrest for manufacturing explosive devices and possession of explosive materials.

Police expect that Bronson Road between Warner Hill Road and North Cedar will remain closed for the remainder of Wednesday and possibly into Thursday.
