The stop occurred around the area of 193 Summer Street at around 10 p.m. An officer on patrol noticed a vehicle traveling northbound on Main Street at 52 mph in a 25 mph zone. Police stopped the vehicle in the driveway of the operator’s Summer Street home.

Upon speaking with the vehicle’s driver, Steven Larkin, police detected an odor of alcohol. Larkin was then arrested after failing a series of field sobriety tests.

During processing, Larkin allegedly became defiant and resisted arrest when police tried to put him in handcuffs. Police added this offense to his charges. He also refused to submit to a BAC test. Larkin’s charges are as follows:

  • Operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol
  • Interfering with an officer/resisting arrest

Larkin posted $10,00 bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
