Man Charged With DUI In Wilton After Close Call With Cop Car

WILTON, Conn. — A 28-year-old Redding man was charged with drunken driving in Wilton last Friday morning after his vehicle almost collided with a police vehicle, police said.

Daniel Marzella was traveling north on Danbury Road when he left his travel lane and almost struck a police vehicle, the police report said. Marzella was stopped and determined to be intoxicated, police said. The results of his breath test were 0.114 and 0.101, police said. The legal blood-alcohol limit is 0.08.

In addition to driving under the influence, Marzella was charged with failure to drive in the proper lane. He was released on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 30.
