WILTON, Conn. — A 52-year-old Norwalk man who was driving the Norwalk Transit District bus that struck a Wilton bicyclist on Aug. 14 was found at fault in the accident and cited, police said.
Paul Yvan, the driver, was issued an infraction Tuesday on a charge of failure to exercise due care to avoid a pedestrian/bicyclist, police said.
The accident happened at about 5:10 p.m. on Route 7, just south of Arrowhead Road, police said. The bus was traveling north in the right lane when it made contact with the bicyclist, who was riding in the northbound shoulder, police said.
The bicyclist, identified as 22-year-old Theodore Welty, was knocked to the ground and later transported to Norwalk Hospital by Wilton EMS. He was later released with minor injuries, police said.
