Tori Lynn Alvarez, of Hillcrest Road, was at the time in a relationship with a member of the household where the thefts occurred, police said. The theft occurred while the homeowners were away, police said. Alvarez was aware the homeowners would not be home, according to the police report.

Alvarez was arrested on a warrant last Wednesday and admitted to the theft, police said. She also admitted to a theft in Weston, police said, and is believed to have acted alone in both incidents.

She was charged with third-degree larceny, a felony, and released on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court this Thursday.

Additional charges were expected, police said.
