Stamford Woman Breaks Open Window, Enters Home As Greenwich Resident Is Sleeping, Police Say

A 31-year-old woman was arrested after breaking a window to enter a home where the resident was sleeping, according to Greenwich Police.

Carol Podgurski of Stamford was arrested after officers responded to a home around 2 a.m. Tuesday in the Cos Cob area for a report that she had broken into the residence, Greenwich Police said.

According to the arrest report, Podgurski broke a glass window and entered the living room of the home on Cross Lane, startling a resident who was sleeping in the room, police said. 

When officers arrived Podgurski had fled the area but was located by police on East Putnam Avenue, where she was arrested.

During her arrest, police found Podgurski had missed a previous court date and was wanted on a warrant in connection with a domestic dispute.

She was charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, and failure to appear. She is being held on $5,000 bond which she was unable to post.
