Wilton Driver Leaves Tire At Accident Scene, Crashes Car Again

WILTON, Conn. -- A Wilton driver trying to leave the scene of an accident where he'd lost his tire got in a second accident before giving up and walking home early Monday morning.

Police said that 31-year-old Ludwig Griffin drove off the road and hit a utility pole on Millstone Road, losing a tire in the process. He left the scene and kept driving towards Silver Spring Road, where he went off the road again and hit a mailbox, according to police.

At that point, he gave up and walked home, leaving his car at the scene of the second accident, according to police. Police arrived at his home on Silver Spring Road and found that he had marijuana on him, according to police.

Griffin was taken into custody and charged with evading responsibility, failure to drive in the established lane, and possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana. He was processed and released on a promise to appear in court on June 12.
