Wilton Driver May Face Charges In Crash That Delayed Trains

WILTON, Conn. — Charges are pending against the driver of a car that landed on the tracks at Wilton’s Cannondale train station Monday night after a single-car crash, disrupting service on Metro-North’s Danbury branch, police said.

The driver, 24-year-old Wilton resident Joseph Milazzo, was driving south on Mather Street when his vehicle went onto the other side of the road and crashed into a stone wall, the police report said. The vehicle rolled over and came to rest on the west side of Mather Street, with its front-end on the train tracks, police said.

Train service was suspended for more than an hour until the vehicle was removed from the tracks, the police report said.

Milazzo was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment. The accident remains under investigation.
