WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Fire Department is reminding residents to turn their clocks back one hour late Saturday and bid farewell to daylight savings time.
When you turn back your clocks, remember to change the batteries in your smoke alarms, too, the fire department said. Smoke alarm batteries need to be changed at least yearly.
This simple act cuts the risk of dying in a home fire nearly in half, the department said. Also, be sure to test that smoke alarm at least once a month. Smoke alarms more than 10 years old should be replaced.
