WILTON, Conn. A man accused of breaking into his former roommates home and punching him in the face is facing four charges from Wilton Police.
Jared Denny, 38, of Wilton, is charged with first-degree criminal trespass second-degree breach of peace, second-degree threatening, and third-degree criminal mischief, all misdemeanors.
Police responded to a Danbury Road home at about 1:18 a.m. Tuesday. Denny walked to the home of his former roommate and threw a park-style bench at a front door and struck the glass on a storm door, police said. The complainant told officers that he was in bed when he heard the air conditioner and a window being shaken and heard a loud noise. When the complainant came to the door and told Denny to leave, police said, Denny punched the man in the head and threatened bodily harm to the man and his girlfriend. Denny also threw a bench in the direction of the complainants girlfriend, but did not hit her, police said.
Police arrived to hear Denny, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time of his arrest, screaming at the victim, police said.
The former roommates shared an apartment in California, and Denny lived sporadically at the Danbury Road residence, police said.
Denny was held on $10,000 bond and appeared Tuesday in Norwalk Superior Court.
