Wilton First Selectman Candidate Lynne Vanderslice Gains Key Endorsement

WILTON, Conn. – Wilton First Selectman candidate Lynne Vanderslice announced that she has received multiple endorsements before Tuesday's election, including one from the man who is vacating the post and retiring.

The Republican candidate has secured 10 endorsements, including one from retiring First Selectman Bill Brennan.

“It has been my privilege to work with the two candidates currently seeking the position of first selectman and CEO of the Town of Wilton. I have enormous respect for both individuals, as the job is not easy,” Brennan said in a statement.

“Due to [Vanderslice’s] demonstrated financial management skills and seven years of hands-on budget development and capital investment experience on the Board of Finance, I believe she is clearly the more qualified candidate.”

The other endorsements Vanderslice has secured are from:

  • Gail Lavielle, state Representative for the 143rd District
  • Zelie Pfozheimer, former president of the Wilton Playshop
  • State Sen. Toni Boucher
  • Warren Serenbetz, Board of Finance Chairman
  • Jane Lee, longtime  board member for A Better Chance of Wilton
  • Rita Garland, former treasurer of A Better Chance of Wilton and longtime local volunteer
  • Amy Roberts, former board member for A Better Chance and chairman of of Scholar Support Services
  • Andy Pforzheimer, former Democratic Board of Finance member
  • Scott Gioffre, former vice president of A Better Chance of Wilton

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
