FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- State Sen. Toni Boucher, who represents New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport and Wilton, was recognized for her perfect voting and attendance record last month.
Boucher has compiled 100 percent voting and attendance in each of her six years in office.
“I’m proud of my 100 percent voting and attendance record,” Boucher said in a statement. “I consider it a huge responsibility to represent my constituents in the Senate. There’s so much at stake and so much to be done in order to restore our states lagging economy and improve our transportation and educational systems.
"Many do not know that in Connecticut we have a 'citizen legislature.' This means that the work is part time and most of us also juggle private sector careers. As such, unavoidable conflicts and family obligations can always present themselves. I have been fortunate, however, that they have not interfered with my legislative duties or missing a day of session or a vote."
