11 Wilton Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

WILTON, Conn. -- Wilton High School recently recognized 11 students who have been named semifinalists in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program.

These students took the fall 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as juniors. Nationally, more than 1.5 million students took the exam, and 16,000 were named National Merit Semifinalists. The nationwide pool of semifinalists represents less than 1 percent of U.S. seniors. These students have the opportunity to continue in the competition for Merit Scholarship awards that will be offered next spring.

The semifinalists are Alexander Bendix, Nicholas Dehn, Alexander Hirsch, Margaret Hoch, Christopher Hume, Rachael Jones, Kurt Rubin, Ethan Segall, Chase Smith, Kathleen Smith and Ingrid Wang.
