Junior Chase Smith, sophomore Evaline Xie and freshman Xavier Gilles sang as members of the All-State Choir, while freshman Elliot Connors played trumpet in the All-State Jazz Ensemble.

Wilton resident Skye Andersen, a freshman at St. Luke's in New Canaan, also performed in the All-State Choir.

The festival was held Thursday at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. To be considered for these ensembles, the students auditioned for and performed in the Connecticut Western Region Festival in January. A second-round of auditions was held in February to select the top musicians from across the state.

The chorus was conducted by Patrick Walders of San Diego State University. Ronald Carter of Northern Illinois University led the jazz ensemble.
