Wilton Running Club Girl Earns 3rd At National Track Meet

WILTON, Conn. – Angela Saidman of the Wilton Running Club finished third Sunday in the 1,500 meters at the USA Track and Field Junior Olympic Track and Field championships in Greensboro, N.C.

Saidman competed in the girls 11-12 division and ran 4:56.37. Athing Mu of the Trenton Track Club won in 4:48.58. Sarah Flynn finished second in 4:48.6. There were 58 runners in the race.

On Saturday, Saidman finished eighth in the 800 meters in 2:24.12. There were 49 runners in qualifying heats for the 800, and the top eight went to Saturday’s final. Saidman finished eighth in qualifying.

Saidman, who lives in Bethel, won the 800 and took second in the 1,500 in Junior Olympic regional championships to earn berths in the national championship races. Complete results are online.
