Save the Children and the international aid community are working around the clock in Nepal's mountainous central region. The earthquakes caused more than 8,600 deaths and injured 20,000 people. Nearly 750,000 homes were damaged or destroyed, affecting 3.7 million people, including 1.5 million children. More than 900 small health facilities and thousands of schools were also affected and remain closed.

“JoyRide is honored to host a ride to raise money for Save the Children’s aid efforts in Nepal,” said JoyRide co-founder Debbie Katz. “While the suffering is vast, we are proud to help in any way we can. We may ride local, but we think and act globally.”

The fundraising ride is open to all JoyRiders and members of the community. JoyRide’s doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; the ride begins at 7 p.m.

The three owners of JoyRide  – Amy Hochhauser, Debbie Katz and Rhodie Lorenz – have been committed to raising money and awareness for charities by hosting indoor cycling fundraisers and training rides. Over the past two years, JoyRide and its community have raised nearly $500,000 for charitable causes.

JoyRide Cycling Studio is located at 1200 Post Road East, Westport, behind Crate & Barrel.
