Help Build A Metro-North App At Stamford Innovation Center

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Startup and technology enthusiasts can join in the creation of a fully functioning mobile app at the Stamford Innovation Center on Thursday, April 2, at 6:30 p.m.

Mark Lassoff, founder of Learn To Program Media, will develop an app that leverages open information from the Metro-North Railroad system to create an app he calls “Metronorth Station.” The completed app will allow users to see the status of upcoming trains at any station on the New Haven Line. 

As he develops the app, Lassoff will discuss his mobile development strategies, hints, tips and tricks. Attendees will learn about mobile app development as Lassoff creates and deploys this useful app using HTML5, Javascript, CSS, jQuery and PhoneGap.  He will also discuss some of the intricacies of iPhone vs. Android app deployment.

The event will include a light dinner and drinks. Attendees are encouraged to come and network with fellow tech and tech-friendly startup and business leaders.
