NORWALK, Conn. Debra D. Satter, 59, of Norwalk, died April 16 at Norwalk Hospital after a long illness.
Satter was born July 29, 1952. For the last nine years, she was employed by the Darien Public Schools, most recently as an instructional aide at Ox Ridge Elementary. She was a former co-president of the Fox Run PTO and was active in parent activities at Ponus Ridge Middle School and Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk.
Satter is survived by her husband, Keith Satter; two daughters, Rachel Satter, of Norwalk, and Lori (Terran) Birrell, of Rochester, N.Y.; her mother, Lily Lane, of Margate, Fla.; a brother, Charles Dobbs, of Ames, Iowa; two nephews and a niece.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk. Burial will follow in Beth El Memorial Park Cemetery in Norwalk. Shiva will be observed at the Satter home in Norwalk following the service. There will be a Shiva service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Information on services for Sunday and Monday can be obtained by calling the Congregation Beth El office at 203-838-2710.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Congregation Beth El, Smilow Cancer Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital, or the American Red Cross.
